I originally signed up with Stampin' Up! in order to get my discount on all the products I buy myself. I like that everything matches, I love having the opportunity to network and learn from other demos and I especially liked having the Stampin' Up! publications. However, all that goes out the window when you really get down to what makes this the best "hobby/job" in the world -- it's the people you meet who share your passion for creating handmade gifts for others! Stampers and Scrappers are the most sharing people in the world! We love to show others how we did something and in turn, we learn from our "friends/clients" all the time.
I am originally from Marion, Ohio, and met my hubby on the internet. Yes, I know -- but I did it very safely and I did it the correct way. Thom and I met and married within six months and I relocated from Marion to Zanesville. I just have to tell you I don't recommend marrying that quickly, but it's all good today! At any rate, when I moved to Zanesville, I KNEW NO ONE! Of course, I met people at church, but many of them aren't in the same life situation as I am -- they have small children and their lives are built around their children, as it should be. At any rate, through stamping, I've met some of the nicest people in the world -- and I mean that sincerely. In addition, I am truly blessed because I love Thom's sister and our worlds are very similar -- she is a God-send and I can't think of her in any other light. As I get ready to go to convention, I am thinking about those people who continue to help me along the way as I try to get better with my hobby. I want to learn some fabulous things I can come back and share with them. At my last techniques class, Francie gifted me with this, and it is PERFECT FOR CONVENTION! And Laura surprised me with this placque which I love -- I'm sticking to this slogan forever!
I will proudly carry this bag everywhere and I know I won't lose it because it has my name on it! Francie must realize that I'm a bit scattered at this point. And, I'm here to tell you that this placque is going to find a prominent place in my home -- not only do I love the statement -- It matches my decor! Thank you Francie and Laura -- I'm truly touched that you thought of me and I'm going to find a way to surprise you both as well.
I'm working on swaps today and tomorrow because I really don't want to have to do them during my 4 HOUR LAYOVER in Detroit on Tuesday as I fly to convention. However, if it has to be, I'll make it work. One set of 20 swaps is done, another set of 30 is almost all cut out. The third set of 20 is designed and I know I have to cut, run through the Big Shot, tear, etc., etc. today. And, I have the double page scrapbook designed and once these 20 pages are cut, I think I can get them together fairly quickly. My clothes are packed, but it's the toiletries that will be my downfall -- I'm a very high maintenance woman. I really wanted to get all of this stuff in one bag, but it isn't going to happen so I'm going to pay probably $160 in bag charges for all the flights I'm taking, but at this point, I don't care. Whatever causes me the least amount of stress is the way I'm going.
I'll be posting swap cards throughout the week, but posts will come about every three days. I'm not taking the computer (although I would really like to) and will be posting tons of pics when I get back.
The best thing about stamping in Zanesville is all of you wonderful gals that I have met. I learn something new from all of you every time we get together. You are all the best of the best kind of people and I am blessed to be here sharing life with you! Thanks for being such blessings in my life!
