GLORIOUS DAY!

Yesterday was such a glorious day for me!  Thom left the house at 4:30 a.m. and I was ready to rock and roll!  I cleaned up around the house and took my shower, did my hair and said, "NO!" to the makeup routine.  I was in my stampin' studio by 6:30 a.m. and I was making all manner of things I had promised people.  I did special packaging for door prizes I donated for the Ladies Tea at our church that is being held on Monday.  Then, I did door prizes and packaging for the auction to raise funds for Faith Mission, Mid Ohio Food Pantry and Children's Hospital for my mom and her employer, and then I started on my Boxes, Bags and Tags class preparation.  Toward the end of the evening, I even did some work on a scrapbook album and I really felt like I got things accomplished.  I don't get many days like that and when I finally left my room at 8 p.m., I couldn't see to do anymore -- I felt cross-eyed and realized that my glasses just aren't getting it done.  I see an appointment for new bi-focals looming on the horizon here....

Friday night, when we arrived at the Senior Night celebration for Football, I discovered that my fabulous son had MOHAWKED HIS HAIR!  Yep, you read it right!  And, he was wearing a uniform and I thought I was going to have to physically remove him from the field.  However, he was just dressing for the photos so he could be in his uniform and then he changed into his street clothes to sit the sidelines with the rest of the "injured reserve."  He knew that he would have to shave the rest of the hair off as he attends a Christian school and I'm sure the Mohawk is gone by now.  Oh well, those senior pictures will have to wait -- they aren't that important anyway, right?  He is going to graduate in May and so what if we don't even have pictures taken until February or March -- there are one hour photo places...and he's a boy...who doesn't care about pictures....not realizing that his mom would like to have a few good pics...whatever!  He had fun and if that is the worst it gets, I'm truly blessed.  As I've said so many times before, he gives us no trouble and is a joy so if Mohawing his hair with the rest of the Seniors is his expression of having a great time, I'm okay with it...this one time!

Here are some of the projects I worked on for the Ladies Tea door prizes. 

Maybe it's just me, but I sometimes buy things and forget I have them.  Such is the case with the Fancy Favor box.  I had it and went to purchase it one day, only to find that it was highlighted in my master catalog as already being a part of my stash.  So yesterday, when I was trying to make some packaging, I found it and made a few of these boxes, wheeling them with the jumbo wheels.  I never get rid of retiring wheels as they don't take up much space and I love them.  Quick and easy, I adore my wheels in any size!  I usually pull out my stash of retired colors and accessories when I'm making packaging for events to which I'm donating.  I like to use my current supplies for classes and workshops, but can always content myself with using retired stuff (of which I have plenty!) for giveaways. 

If you are local to the Zanesville/Muskingum County area and would like to help, the Cards for the Kids event is being held on Sunday, November 8, at North Terrace Church of Christ on Brandywine Boulevard next to the Mall.  We'll start at 1:30 and wind up by 4 p.m. and I'm hopeful we can get a couple of hundred cards made.  Whatever we get done is what we'll donate and we'll be making cards for all life events.  I'll have supplies there for you, already cut with designs to make, but feel free to bring anything you want to work on and donate to this worthy cause.  We are scheduled for the Fireside Room and you can just walk into the left hand side of the building as you face it and into the doors straight on the left.  I'm grateful that North Terrace is so willing to allow us to use the facility rent free since I'm a member and they are always behind this type of event.  We will be making all types of cards -- birthday, anniversary, holiday, get well, etc. -- and I'll have door prizes to award throughout the event.  Bring volunteers -- we can teach them to stamp if they don't already know and what better time to learn?

Soooooooooo glad that you got to "stamp until you cramped" on Saturday. Send me a pic of the mohawked hair. ; ) I'm sure that the ladies at the tea will love your donations. They are beautiful. ; )

You have been so busy! You got more done on your "all day maration" than I have in quite some time. I have been re-arranging my scrapbook room. Now I need to find a home for everything. It may take me another week to finish.

I plan to be at the Cards for Kids on Nov. 8. Let me know if there is anything I can help you do for it.

Congratulations on the building hit count Tami! Sounds like you had a Wowza stamping day. I had 3 days like that and now I'm coming down off my stamping high! Just lolling around and enjoying some time with the cats and time with my books and some quiet surfing on my sister demo's blogs!

Funny story about the Mohawk and kudo's to you for taking it in stride. Hmmm...do you suppose prayer and vigorous scalp massage would grow the hair any faster? In the meantime maybe give him Tootsie pops and call him Kojak?? I tried to picture my cats with a reverse Mohawk....nope can't quite do it. Luckily they aren't the type of kids to really consider it for long if it even occurred to them. - LoL!
