I'm in the process of designing the cards we will be making at the Cards for the Kids Event next Sunday. I took advantage of a sketch challenge to make this card. Keep in mind that we are trying to make a quantity of cards and simple, easy cards are the call for the day.
I loved how easy this sketch was and this card came together very quickly. I started with a base of Bermuda Bay. I love this color and haven't used it very often at all. I reached for the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper package and pulled out the stripe so I'd have plenty of color to pull. I scalloped Rose Red strips for the top and bottom of the stripe and adhered them, wrapping a 1/4" strip of Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon around the striped paper as well. I adhered this to the basecard.
Next, I chose my image and stamped it on Whisper White in Chocolate Chip Ink. Using my Bermuda Bay and Rose Red inkpads, as well as my Blender Pen, I colored the image. I matted this on Chocolate Chip and attached it with dimensionals. Easy and done in 10 minutes or less. Love it! I know this is an easy card, but it will be easy for someone who may not be a stamper to make as well and that is the name of the game when we are trying to make a quantity of cards for use by the parents at the Ronald McDonald House.
I can't believe it is already November -- so much to do in the next two months and not much time to prepare for the holiday. Andy will be playing basketball when he is completely recoverered from his concussion and we're choosing colleges as well. Busy month, but we'll get through it! Hope things are well in your world too! Stay tuned for more card designs for the kids, as well as Christmas Holiday crafts!
God Bless!
