Yes, I remember that Black, Red and White was last week. However, my hubby went nuts over my card last week and said he LOVES Red and Black cards. And, because he likes to agitate me, whenever I send mail or am making a card, he asks if it is for him. What? Just because I make cards he thinks he should RECEIVE cards? Where did he ever get that idea?
Thursday, I saw a sketch and this card immediately came to mind. I went home and put the card together and mailed it yesterday. I am hopeful it will come back to the house by Saturday, in time for Valentine's Day. I know he is taking me to my favorite restaurant for lunch on Sunday (I prefer lunch versus dinner because we can go to church, head to Columbus for lunch, get home and get back inside and relax!). I haven't been there in at least a year and I plan to eat myself sick and yes, I'm having dessert if they have something chocolate because if they don't, we'll walk across the way and get Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Calories don't count on Valentine's Day!
My basecard is Basic Black. I embossed the Really Red cardstock with the Perfect Details Texturz plate in my Big Shot. I love this particular Texturz Plate because it is so pretty! I used the Ticket Punch on the corners to notch them out.
I cut a sheet of labels to size and stamped En Francais in Basic Black. Then, using the Happy Heart set, I stamped the heart image in the middle with Really Red ink. Next, I stamped the smaller open heart image and "love you" from Short and Sweet in Really Red. I used my heat gun to make certain the ink was dry (as you can tell, it wasn't completely dry and it spread a bit) and then I covered the sheet with Crystal Effects --a very thin layer -- and heated the entire piece until the Crystal Effects was dry.
I carefully peeled the labels off onto the Basic Black cardstock and used dimensionals to attach this to my Really Red piece. I tied the Gingham Ribbon around the bottom of the Really Red piece and attached it to the basecard. I felt like this card needed "something" so I added the four silver brads.
Guaranteed, my man will like this card. The sentiment inside is one I have had for a while and it isn't a Stampin' Up! sentiment, but I had to use it anyway. It states, "I'm not waiting for a knight in shining armor...Mine has already come!" I used a Stampin' Up! stamp to include "Happy Valentine's Day" and stamped all of that onto a white panel in Really Red Ink.
Tomorrow, I've got a Guest Designer. Thom and I received a Valentine card from my SIL, Laura, who is a fabulous stamper. We have such different styles and it is very cool how that works. We like many of the same images, but Laura is more collage-y than I and has a way of putting things together that works. When I do it, it just looks cluttered! At any rate, you'll definitely want to check back and see the card she made us -- IT'S A WOW!
Have a fabulous weekend and stay safe and warm!

I've always loved this technique and the way you have it here makes it look like a brand new tech! Adorable use of glitter and stamps!
