Over the weekend, one of the demo boards I belong to issued a challenge to CASE another stamper. We were actually assigned the stamper and she is one who has the most beautiful gallery -- it was actually hard to choose what card to CASE but in the end, I chose one that didn't have a great deal of stamping. My brother-in-law celebrated his 62nd birthday on Monday and I didn't realize it was his birthday until Saturday! So, it was time to create a very quick and easy card that I could drop off at his house after work on Monday. Here is what I came up with.
The paper is from the Designer Series Pack called To the Nines and it is cardstock weight. The color here is Always Artichoke and Sahara Sand (which I refer to often as Common Concrete -- not an original but I can't remember who first called it that!). At any rate, the pack uses a lot of Kraft, Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip, but these particular pieces use only Sahara Sand and Always Artichoke.
So easy, this one is four 1 1/4" square punches from each piece of DSP and one square of Always Artichoke cardstock. I cut a strip of Always Artichoke for the top and bottom and pierced both pieces thorugh the center. I arranged the squares and adhered them tot eh Sahara Sand basecard. Next, I punched a star from Sahara Sand to pop off the Always Artichoke square. I need dimension to make a card complete! I used the ever handy Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to place my sentiment above the top piece of Always Artichoke.
I love this card! Simple, masculine and quick -- what could be easier! The inside sentiment read, "The more candles, the bigger the wish!" from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I was so happy with the layout that I made a feminine card to use at my Card Club this month. I will share it later this month after Card Club.
We're getting more snow today and I can't tell you how many inches we've already gotten. My snowman (or should I call him my "Snow Warrior"!) is back at the plowing again today. He likes to plow but I think this is getting very old, even to him!
Hope you have a fabulous day! See you tomorrow!
