I received a gift certificate from a local crafters haven and found myself walking through today. I found the perfect stamp for several women I know and have plans to make many cards using this particular stamp. When cruising through several of my favorite challenge sites, I combined a sketch challenge and a color challenge. The colors are Going Gray, Rose Red and Pretty In Pink.
If you can read the sentiment, you will understand why this particular stamp really moved me. And the colors of the color challenge were absolutely perfect!
I started with a Going Gray basecard. I scalloped a Rose Red layer and pierced it toward the bottom. The next layer is Pretty in Pink and it is wrapped with a Rose 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, as well as silver cording that I used to represent the Going Gray.
On the focal image, I inked the stamp in Rose Red and stamped it on Whisper White, leaving room for the ribbon, which is a combination of Rose Red, Pretty In Pink and Silver Cord. The ribbon is attached with glue dots.
When I adhered the top layers to the base card, I used dimensionals to set it apart a bit. I love the soft colors, but more than anything, I love the verse. I do know so many women, and men!, who will totally understand this verse and feel a kinship to these words.
Tomorrow is Blogger's Challenge. I am looking forward to checking out what the super creative women in this group come up with on Friday. I'm off to see what I can come up too.....
Stay safe and warm!
