I found a new challenge site and combined two of their challenges to create my card. I needed a Get Well card for the very nice gal who does my nails. She had to have surgery and is going to be off for at least six weeks, and if she is smart, she'll be off even longer. The color challenge was to use Old Olive, Pretty In Pink, White and Chocolate Chip. Here is the sketch we were given.

Here is the card I created using their sketch with the aforementioned color challenge. (My English teacher would be proud of that word!)
I am so loving my new stamp set, Wedding Sweet, that just about every card I touch gets a bit of that stamp set. Here, I've started with a Chocolate Chip base and used Craft Whisper White and the Wedding Sweet large image to add some background, stamping randomly.
I love the Sweet Pea DSP and found a scrap of Pink and White polka dotted paper which I scalloped on the left. I attached Regal Rose 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to the side because no matter what, I don't do square cards. They cost more to mail and I don't have square envelopes. I'm not buying them either...but I digress...
I used Old Olive to stamp the stem from the set For All You Do and then used some of the fabulous Sweet Pea Felt pieces to complete the card. I have so enjoyed using these pieces and will be sorry to see them go when the Occasions Mini is no longer. It is good only through the end of April so if you like these pieces, get them ordered now!
I forgot to mention that I ripped the bottom pieces of the focal image and the mat. I love ripped edges and how they lend something to a card. I stamped my sentiment in Whisper White Craft Ink as well. This is one of my all time favorites and it will never leave my possession. I am often heard to say, "Hear my heart" and this one means almost the same thing to me.
So you can see how I used the colors from the color challenge (Old Olive, Pretty In Pink, White and Chocolate Chip) and how I interpreted the sketch. I've been asked about my own color challenge. The idea is to use those three colors (Perfect Plum, Mellow Moss and So Saffron) together on one card. You can use any neutrals you need as well (Very Vanilla, Confetti White or Ivory, Whisper White) where you need to. And remember that you do not have to use Stampin' UP! supplies. Use what you have and enjoy the process!!!
I hope you are enjoying the challenges and that you plan to enter. I've already gotten one card from my very talented Sister-In-Law. I'll post it on Saturday or Monday, depending upon my time. It's gorgeous -- when I like things, I feel them. I'm a very kinisthetic person, which means I am touchy/feely. So when she handed me this card, I kept touching it and exploring it with my fingers. It's a great card and I know the folks at the Ronald McDonald House are going to love it too! I may have to case it and make several, which means I will be borrowing her stamps -- I don't have the set she used....very sad, isn't it?
God Bless You! Check back tomorrow -- I'm showing you a card using stamps made by a wonderfully talented stamper, Krista Visser-Driessen, from the Netherlands. I am going to be using her new Baby set and had hopes of creating more cards with the stamps, but unfortunately, life intervened, as it has such a way of doing. So, I intend to create some additional cards next week. Stay tuned to see if life cooperates with my intentions....
