I don't know about you, but I'm glad it rained here in Ohio because it is melting the snow. Now, I love snow...don't get me wrong. However, we've had enough already this year and I'm certain that we will more than likely have at least one more snow. But the snow is very grungy now -- dark and dirty. The rain at least will clean it all up and I'm actually ready to smell the first cutting of the grass. I know it's a ways off, but one can dream...and wish...and hope!
I wanted to make a quick card for posting because I didn't have much time to stamp today. I should have, but it didn't work out that way. When I went to the stamp room, I wanted to work with some bright scraps I've got from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Pad of papers. This pad of papers has turned out to be one of my favorites and for all the patterned paper, at this price, the value is incredible. I think I'm going to invest in another pad of this paper because I know I can use it in so many different ways and the colors just flat make me happy -- kinda like chocolate!
Don't these colors just pop right off the page? The basecard is Only Orange and it isn't one I've reached for very often. I cut a layer of Taken with Teal and layered on three pieces of the Sweet Pea DSP scraps I had laying around. I scalloped a scrap of Whisper White and attached all of these scraps to the Taken with Teal layer, covering the white seam with a piece of Pumpkin Pie ribbon (I think it fudges Only Orange pretty well). I adhered this to the Only Orange basecard.
Next, I stamped my image in Taken with Teal on Whisper White and mounted this with dimensionals onto an Only Orange mount. I adhered this to the base card and wanted to add just a bit of bling, so I added two of the Fire Circle Brads. I like this card, but here's the story. I think this darned card took me 20 minutes! I couldn't get the strips straight so I ripped them off and repositioned. They still weren't straight, so I ripped them off, flipped the Taken with Teal panel over and started again. You can kind of see where the seams aren't laying down. Before I send this card, I'll make certain I get these seams down very well!
And, naturally, Francie has been at it again. I stopped to see her today, to thank her for all the cards she has been sending for the Ronald McDonald House. She had another big batch ready and I'll share some of those cards as we go through the month. However, here's another entry for the sketch challenge and I love it. Can you guess why?
So soft and very easy to add a quick message of love and get well wishes inside. This card will get snapped up in a hurry at the RMH.
I hope to have time to stamp something good tonight. Tomorrow is Blogger's Challenge and I'm trying to come up with something I'm proud to share.
Have a fabulous day and God Bless!
