I found a simple sketch a few weeks ago and loved it! You'll see why in a second. I cannot remember where the sketch came from but it is an easy, versatile sketch. I know I'll be using this sketch for Prayer Committee cards because it is so quick and easy to put together, doesn't layer thick and will mail for one stamp. When making this card, I took the opportunity to use my new Heart Framelits and the Big Shot -- I love these things!
I promised it was simple and it really is. I used the Jolly Holiday paper from 2011 Christmas but it works so well for this design and it has Cherry Cobbler and....I'm going to call it Rose Red, along with Very Vanilla. The Heart was cut using the Heart Framelits through the Big Shot and it could not have been any easier. The small Very Vanilla heart came from the Trio Heart Punch which has always been one of my favorites.
Because I don't have all my sentiments back in their correct packages, I can't tell you where this sentiment came from, but it is Stampin' Up! In reality, I think it is from a retired set but I quit pulling my retired sets from my stamp closet because I was running to the retired stamp closet all the time looking for "just the right sentiment." I love this one and it worked so well just above the Designer Series Paper, using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for perfect placement. Before attaching the Designer Series Paper, I cut a length of Very Vanilla satin ribbon, tied a knot in one side, put a bit of adhesive along each edge of the paper and just wrapped it around to tuck and adhere the ends. I like to use cheater ribbons because I want that ribbon to go as far as possible. I'm a ribbon hound and buy it like I buy....well, like I buy paper, stamps and inks!
This card will go to both Kadie and Andy for Valentine's Day, along with a goody box of some of their faves. My nephews will undoubtedly receive one of these as well with some kind of gift card inside. I'll admit that I'm trying to suck up so they will always love me best! You might even say I am practicing for the Grandchildren that I hope to have someday.....soon...but only when our kids are ready....dear Lord, hear my plea......
I'm stamping today and am making some cards that I need so I'll share them later. In the meantime, have an awesome weekend and make it God-filled!

Love the card Tami AND the sketch..... I am a bit like you, I tend to pull out what I think is the "right sentiment" to use & just as I am about to stamp, check it & realise it is now retired!!!!

I love your card Tami. The DSP goes really well with this design and colours (whatever colour you call it). I'm sure all who receive this card will love it and I think practicing your technique for when the grandchildren arrive is perfectly sensible.
